New Jersey’s hip-hop fixture Rasheed Chappell is back with a fresh video single titled "Haysoos" featuring SoundsLikeDen, taken from his forthcoming LP, NONSTOP, which is set to release on August 30th. The entire album is produced by beatsbyjblack, who is also the in-house DJ for the Atlanta Hawks.

For those who appreciate contemporary, lyric-driven hip-hop and seek a break from the prevalent coke rap wave, Rasheed Chappell's "Haysoos" featuring SoundsLikeDen is an essential listen. Known for collaborations with Tri-State artists like 38 Spesh, this new project expands Chappell’s usual East Coast boom-bap sound with Southern trap influences. Created during a fast-paced 36-hour trip to Atlanta, the track presents a sharp critique of the American legal system, with rich horn sections, candid lyrics, and a soulful chorus by SoundsLikeDen: “Oh my God, it’s the same old thing/We either paying with our life/Or charge it to the game.” Chappell describes "Haysoos" as an adrenaline-fueled journey: "J made this beat so fast, I felt like I had to keep up with him."

As a seasoned emcee, Rasheed Chappell has distinguished himself through his vivid storytelling and tight-knit raps, working with TRUST Gang artists like 38 Spesh and a variety of notable producers including Buckwild, Apollo Brown, and Kenny Dope. He gained recognition with his solo track "Midnight Sunday" on HOT97 host Peter Rosenberg’s 2021 compilation album Real Late, and has collaborated with legendary producers throughout his career.

Following his 2020 album Ways and Means with 38 Spesh, Rasheed Chappell has consistently delivered high-quality projects, such as the Buckwild-produced Sinners and Saints, A Portrait Of with Little Vic, and The Arcitype-produced Sugar Bills. Recently, he released the 38 Spesh collaboration tape Checks & Balances. As hip-hop marked its 50th anniversary last year, Chappell is gearing up to drop NONSTOP on August 30th, continuing to honor the genre’s tradition of expressive lyricism with a thoughtful and authentic new album.
