Y.O. The Label - Ride Or Die Feat. Zappa T, JDOT, Maax Sixtie, Louie Vi Kha, & M.C.D. (Single)
A 5-and-a-half-minute-long posse cut, the crew members of Y.O. The Label rap and croon their hearts out about their respective Ride or Die’s on the aptly named track. With a Japanese City Pop sample serving as the track’s melodic backbone, the crew makes good work of its influence. A punchy bassline helps fill out the rhythm underneath the various verses here. Overall, the record has a bright tone to it, evoking imagery of a sunny day, sitting underneath the shade while birds chirp in the background and wind slowly breezes through the leaves overhead.
If you like Alt Hip-Hop or Pop Rap, this track suits your vibe. Check it out when it drops on all platforms on August 25th.
MALIK YK - FACE OFF (Single)
On this track, Malik Yk channels his inner horndog as he builds the sultry track around a hook detailing a sexual experience. It’s a fast-paced and quick track that doesn’t leave much room to breathe. I like the instrumental a bit more than the bars here, as I think a bit more could have been said, but not every song needs to be an intellectual thinkpiece. There’s room for the songs where you simply want to catch a vibe, and that’s the lane this track slots into perfectly.
If you like Trap, you’ll like this track. Listen to it when it drops on all platforms on August 23rd.
