Essence Fest 2022 was held in New Orleans, Louisiana. This three day festival consisted of many gems. During the day, Essence Fest held performances, guest appearances, free giveaways, and created a market place at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. At the Convention Center, there were performances and appearances by Latto, Jacquees, Nia Long, Jazmine Sullivan, Lori Harvey and many more. There were special guest appearances like the United States Vice President, Kamala Harris - where she took on the stage with the host, Keke Palmer. The Convention Center was full of beautiful black and brown women between 10AM-5PM - and everyone had the chance to receive free products from Target, Mielle, Estee Lauder, Naturally Curly, McDonald’s and many other popular brands. At the Convention Center, Essence held a Health Hub, a Wealth & Power forum, a Film Festival, a Tech Summit, and In His Zone Men’s Experience - which each of these individual events were meant to cater to a specific audience based on their interest, career choice, or their gender. Essence made sure to make this event as inclusive as possible, which made it feel very welcoming to all guests.
After the amazing experience at the Convention Center, people headed towards the official festival, where the main talent were going to take on the stage at the Caesars Superdome.
At the Caesars Superdome, the show
began at 6PM and lasted until 1AM or 2AM, throughout the three days. There were performances by the City Girls, Nicki Minaj, Ashanti, Lauryn Hill, New Edition, Lil Kim, The Isley Brothers, The Lox, Wyclef Jean, Summer Walker, Lucky Daye, Jazmine Sullivan, Patti Labelle, Machel Montano and many talented and popular artists. The stadium filled with singing and dancing as every artist performed on stage. The room filled with celebration and a vibrant energy that was breathtaking and one to experience.
