GRAMMY®, Tony®, and EMMY® Award-winning artist Cynthia Erivo has made her long-awaited return to music with the release of her latest solo single, “Replay.” Out now via Verve Records/Republic Records, the song marks her first solo offering since 2021.
Erivo co-wrote the track alongside acclaimed songwriter Justin Tranter (known for his work with Selena Gomez, Chappell Roan, and Lady Gaga), crafting a deeply personal record that showcases her signature vocal harmonies. Built on layers of her own voice, “Replay” delivers an intimate yet powerful experience. The song opens with an introspective confession—“I’m a constant work in progress, and I can’t keep fears at bay”—before launching into a hypnotic chorus: “My mind is like a record, set up on auto-replay.”
Beyond her musical return, Erivo is having a standout week in Hollywood. She’s nominated for Best Actress at the 2025 Academy Awards for her acclaimed performance as Elphaba in last year’s blockbuster adaptation of Wicked. Fans can also look forward to a highly anticipated live performance from her during the Oscars, airing this Sunday, March 2, on ABC from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
With “Replay” setting the stage, Erivo promises more music to come in 2025. Stay tuned for what’s next from this multi-talented artist.
